Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs)

Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) are outstanding middle and senior leaders with a passion for sharing their experience with individuals and teams across our Alliance schools. They are trained in coaching and other facilitation  skills to offer bespoke support in a range of projects. Over 3800 SLEs have been designated by DfE since 2011.

At Marlow & Maidenhead Learning Alliance we are committed to bespoke school improvement through collaborative partnerships that draw upon the expertise of SLEs within the network.  As a group of schools working together, we have the capacity to undertake support for schools looking to develop in particular areas. Our SLEs have been appointed from our wide range of school contexts, and are all senior middle or senior leaders. They are they very best in their fields in our area. Their expertise and enthusiasm covers every area of the curriculum, as well as all levels of school responsibility, including specialists in leadership coaching, behaviour for learning, policies and systems, data and tracking, curriculum design, timetabling, and individual subject support.

The support work of our SLEs can involve a single visit and follow up,  or more sustained projects over a term to a year, depending on need. Our SLEs are deployed in Teacher Training, More Able Learners, Behaviour for Learning, and Performing Arts, MFL, and Maths departments.

The next SLE Core Training Programme will be on 10 March 2017. Read more
